Who am I?
#

Hi, my name is Yang Qihang (杨启航). I am originally from Chongqing (重庆), in southwest China. At the moment, I am a Software Engineering student at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT, 北京邮电大学).

What are my interests?
#

My primary interests currently lie in low-level systems programming, and functional programming paradigms (which is something I am trying hard to learn).

What is this site for?
#

This site is a living supplement to my formal studies and a digital scrapbook of my life. It includes:

  • Notes: Practical study companions for CS (languages, theory, tooling) and Mathematics.

  • Projects: A log of coursework (like my SketchPadX app) and independent technical experiments.

  • Life & Hobbies: Periodic personal reflections, random thoughts, civil aviation, and English learning.

  • Recommendations (Coming Soon): Curated lists of high-quality textbooks and study materials.

I once thought about starting a Wechat official account to document all these things, but I realized it wasn’t quite suitable. The reason is that I want to write entirely in English, yet few Wechat official accounts run purely in English.

Why is the content in English?
#

Looking toward the future, I have two main aspirations:

  • I want to study or live overseas to experience a completely different culture.

  • I want to seriously advance my education in Computer Science.

Achieving both of these requires strong English skills, especially since the most in-depth CS literature and documentation are often written entirely in English.

On top of that, I am really into learning languages myself. Immersing myself in English just feels wonderful.

So I don’t just treat English as a subject to pass. Instead, I try to maintain my fluency by actively integrating the language into my daily technical reading and projects.

What are my hobbies?
#

I am interested in aviation (particularly civil aviation), language learning, calligraphy, etc.
